Giuseppe (Joe) Balsamo Director Técnico y Jefe de Campos Juveniles Giuseppe (Joe) Balsamo was born in Switzerland and grew up in Palermo, Sicily, where he developed his passion for soccer. Joe’s early influence was coach Zdenìk Zeman, who had coached great teams such as F.C. Lazio and A.S. Roma. Joe became a professional player at the “Primavera” level at the early age of 16, and came to the United States at 17 to play in the old North American Soccer League (NASL). He returned to Italy to play in the Italian Serie C for coach Giovanni  Seghedoni, now director of F.C. Modena in Serie B. In 1989, Joe returned to the United States and settled in  Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, where he lives with his wife Lisa and their two children. Joe’s coaching accomplishments include many championships and titles at various age levels, including, in 2002, the championship of the Enzo Ferrari Cup in Italy, where his side defeated the squads of Juventus and Modena. Other championships include the New York State Cup, the Pocono Cup, the Oneonta Cup and numerous league titles. He also coached the United States representative team at the 2003 Danone Cup in Paris.
Guiseppe (Joe) Bálsamo nació en Suiza y se crió en Palermo, Italia, cuidad que engendró su pasión por el fútbol. La primera gran influencia en la vida deportiva de Joe fue el director técnico Zdenìk Zeman, quien había dirigido los grandes clubes italianos F.C. Lazio y A.S. Roma. Joe debutó como futbolista profesional en el nivel ’’Primavera’’ del calcio con apenas 16 años. Al año siguiente, viajó a los Estados Unidos para jugar en la difunta Liga Norteamericana de Fútbol (NASL). Luego regresó a Italia para jugar en la Serie C, bajo el tutelaje del técnico Giovanni Seghedoni, el actual D.T. de F.C. Modena, de la Serie B. En 1989, Joe volvió a Norteamérica y hechó raices en Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, donde vive junto a su señora Lisa y sus dos hijos. Los éxitos de Bálsamo como técnico incluyen la obtención de varios títulos y campeonatos, en distintas categorías y edades. En el 2002, dirigió al equipo ganador de la Copa Enzo Ferrari en Italia, venciendo a escuadras de la talla de la Juventus y el Modena, entre otras grandes. Otros campeonatos obtenidos incluyen la Copa New York State, La Copa Pocono, la Copa Oneonta y numerosos títulos en distintas ligas. Bálsamo también dirigió al combinado estadounidense que compitió en la Copa Danone de París, el año 2003.
