The Knights (9-2-4, 31 points) increased their lead over the second-place and idle Newark Ironbound Express (7-2-6, 27) to four points. The Flames (6-6-2, 20) have been eliminated from playoff consideration.

Tarik Smith, off a Sebastian Alvarado assist, broke a 2-2 deadlock in the 73rd minute.

Javier Gonzalez, off a deflection on a corner kic, lifted the visitors into the lead in the ninth minute.

But the Flames countered with a pair of goals as Josh Trott tallied, off a Konicoff assist, in the 22nd minute, and Kevin Meyer scored 12 minutes later.

Jeff Matteo equalized for the Knights on a penalty kick in the 54th minute after Smith’s shot was blocked by a hand ball.
